Economic Development
Welcome to the Economic Development section of the City of Centralia website. Here you will find information on incentives, building and land availability, demographics, our workforce, utility rates, transportation options and much more.
Located on Interstate 5, the west coast’s major trade corridor, Centralia is positioned between Portland and Seattle and is a strategic business “hub”. Companies such as Millard Refrigerated Services and Lowe’s Distribution Center recently chose Centralia as their next business expansion project for many reasons including our quality of life and workforce development programs.
Established in 2006, the Economic Development Department is focused on development inside the City of Centralia. Our objectives are to promote high-wage and low-impact job creation and retention and to identify and market private investment opportunities.
The City’s Economic Development Department is directly charged with implementation of the following programs.
- Business Recruitment, including Site Selection Assistance
- Business Retention & Expansion Programs
- Convention/Conference/Meeting Recruitment
- Historic Preservation
- Downtown Revitalization
- Façade Improvement Grants
We hope you find this part of our website useful as you make decisions about business expansion and/or relocation. If there is anything else we do to help your business, contact us by phone at 360-330-7820 or email penriquez@cityofcentralia.com
