The city is self-insured for liability coverage through being a member of the Washington Cities Insurance Authority (WCIA). WCIA is a group of over 115 cities, that "pool" for liability, property, automobile physical damage, fidelity, inland marine, boiler and machinery insurance. All claims against the city are filed with the City Clerk.
